A Space to Care, Without Compromise — Our Custom Studio Build. When the Kleinig family wanted to stay close as Mum and Dad grew older, they came to Humpy Co. for a solution that worked for everyone. The answer was a custom-designed studio in the backyard of the family home — a private, self-contained space where their daughter could live and work, just steps from her parents' back door.
A custom modular extension providing a second living space, bedroom & bathroom. This valuable added space to a Victorian terrace ensured that a family each had designated spaces to be separate and come together. Large sliding doors to an outside deck ensured a flow from inside to outside living.

This new custom pod needed to work with the existing brick home and floor plan, so the transition between old and new felt considered rather than added on. From the early design conversations through to the roofline, deck, materials and finishing details, the project was developed around the existing home. The result is a new space that sits comfortably alongside the original architecture and feels like a natural continuation of it.

Our standard packages include the complete structure, insulation, windows, doors, and basic fixtures. All documentation and fees required for building permit applications in Victoria are included in the quoted price. Costs associated with utility connections, town planning applications or additional council fees (eg. report & consent, arborist report, BAL rating) will be quoted separately if required. We provide a comprehensive list of inclusions when you contact us.
